DOCUMENTS: Gratian Family Deeds

The Gratian family owned Hutfall Field in Belper, and other lands. The full extent of Hutfall Field is not yet known, but on the East/West axis it stretched from at least Chesterfield Road (and most probably beyond it) down to at least Bridge Street and possibly beyond. On the North/South axis it was from at least Mill Street to at least Field Lane, and possibly beyond.

Parcels of land were divided off from Hutfall from a very early date, although most of them were inherited by members of the extended family of the Gratians and those who married into the family.
